Women Reviews
Sephardim
Not to be confused with the Bukowski broadside of the same name, this is an insightful recreation of Sephardic Jews in the Old City of Jerusalem in the 19th century that revolves around a rabbi and his barren wife, who suggests (due to her religious faith and desire to do the right thing) that her husband take a veritable child bride. The human then predictably intervenes, disrupting with emotional turmoil the would-be sublime gift.
