Too good to be true FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!

Harry met Sally exactly 12 years and 3 months ago when Sally was 21. They met again 5 years later when Sally became a journalist as she wished and had a boy friend Joe while Harry was a political consultant and engaged to Helen. 5 more years saw Harry about to have a divorce and Sally break up with Joe. 2 more years elapsed during which they befriended each other, finally.

In the first place, the movie provided thoughtful intermissions - each gray haired couple on a couch exhanging long looks and bearing living testimony to a lasting and loving relationship, recalling how they met for the first time many many years ago. Secondly, Meg Ryan, 27-year-old then, looked refreshingly young, plum with her signature gesture of tilting her chin up. She was opinioned, uncompromising, idealistic and had high hopes of happiness. Thus she initially found Harry's actions and views appalling and repulsive, not until she foresaw herself being 41 and still home alone whereas Harry grew older and thus wiser out of his divorce.

Still, this fairy tale ending may be too good to be true. Who can guarantee that Sally would wait for her perfect match after all these years and not settle for a second best? Especially when Sally was so young, lovable and adorable? And who could really know whom was the best for oneself and realize what one had missed until the perfect guy appeared and was out of reach for good? The same goes for Harry.

But fairy tale is always a magnet for those who like to dream every now and then. This definitely is one of the pioneers of the romantic comedies, the predecessor of Four Weddings and a Funeral, Sleepless in Seattle, You've got mail, BJ diary and the many more inspired by this movie. And this movie is all the more attractive as this was one of the earlier work for the young Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. This allowed them to throw in originality and freshness in assuming their earlier romantic roles. And it is a master stroke to project their future and happiness through the successful relationships of the old couples. Simply captivating.

One of the BEST romantic comedies ever. FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
My mushy side loves this film. This was Meg Ryan before she wore out her welcome as the sweet ingenue and Billy Crystal at his best. VERY funny, VERY romantic, a classic of its genre. I dare you not to laugh out lowd or be teary by the conclusion. A smart, witty New York love story.

"Men and women can't be friends..." FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
This is the best romantic comedy of all time. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal are magical together, great chemistry, effortless acting, and awesome directing by Rob Reiner. The writing is fresh and witty, I have seen a lot of romantic comedies but this one is not cheesy or predictable, and doesn't make you sick after watching it. When Harry met Sally... is a comic relief from two great actors. Love it, love it, and did i mention i love this movie.
