very nice adaptation of David McCullough's book!!!
I highly recommend this suprisingly good dvd: Gary Sinise as Harry S. Truman is brillaint, as are the other actors. I didn't think anyone could make a movie out of David McCullough's masterpiece...I was wrong. Get this!

Great Movie About a Great President
I have always been fascinated by Harry S Truman since seeing James Whitmore in Give `Em Hell Harry! This is a film about his life with one of today's great actors, Gary Sinese.

The HBO film goes from his early days through his terms as vice president and then president. It spans from WWI to WWII and his decision to use the A Bomb. Truman made decisions that affected the entire world even today.

This film has an elite cast including Diana Scarwid as Bess Truman, Richard Dysart, James Gammon, Tony Goldwyn and Pat Hingle. Most of these names you might not recognize but their faces you definitely will.

This is a well written and expertly directed film.
