Leonardo Di Caprio plays Arthur Rimbaud, the 17-year-old 19th Century French poet-genius, whose intellectual and homosexual passions are unleashed on and shared with Paul Verlaine, 24, another French poet, who is ultimately scorned by his wife and prosecuted by the authorities for sodomy. Superb acting. Well directed. For obvious reasons, this film is generally not included in more recent lists of Di Caprio's films, although it is probably his BEST. Very existential, the film is intended for mature, intelligent audiences. TOUCHING GAY MOVIE!!!!!!
Total Eclipse is a touching gay movie that hits your heart and has great acting in it!!!!!!! Leonardo Dicarpo plays a free spirit artist that runs into another guy and starts up a relationship!!!!! The movie is a very love filled setting and i think that the two guys made the film!!!!! You need to watch this movie,because it will touch your heart with love and its just a great gay flick to see!!!!!!! good hair ...
This movie was not quite what we thought it would be. Fairly disjunct, difficult to follow, and rather psychologically twisted, it is the perfect movie for a hopelessly artistic film student searching for the meaning of life in complexly weaved plot lines and advanced cinematic technique. Also, if you find homoeroticism to be exciting, be sure to place this movie at the top of your "must see" list. Cheers!
