Thunderball Reviews

Thunderball just isn't a good film. Period. FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff. empty skull, sniff. empty skull, sniff.
Any way you slice the pie, Thunderball is a lard-encrusted, margarine-filled meal of empty calories. It is a bloated mess with a pompous performance by Connery, its only saving grace a bloated budget and an excellent John Barry score.

Compare T-ball to Goldfinger, which has marvelous twists, one liners, genuinely suspenseful moments and is a very cleverly plotted little film. Connery has fun with the role.

Thunderball starts out with a goofy opening scene which climaxes with an unltra-cheesy bue-sceen jet pack (lame). We are then treated to what is undoubtadly the best sequence in the film, the inner sanctum of Spectre. But from there it is a long, drawn-out Tom Clancy style "thriller" that plods along to one overextended sequence to another. The film is a total bore. It's so dull I don't even want to write about it any more.

He's the best Bond!!!! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
