First of all, I can't believe the average customer rating is 3 and a half stars while ridiculous movies like Bring it On and Drop Dead Gorgeous are frozen at a solid 4. This movie is beyond hilarious. The entire supporting cast is brilliant. Chris Elliot, Keith David (Mary's dad, who is WAY too funny in this movie), Harland Williams, Tucker and Matt Dillon are perfect. There's few movies funnier than TSAM. Seems like people nowadays lack a decent sense of humor. I'll admit, some scenes were too immature and stupid for me to laugh at. The dog on speed, the hair-gel scene, and a few others are just too goofy. As far as humor goes, (for me at least) it's all about verbal delivery. Like Chris Elliot in the last scene. He nails every line. The way he says the lines, the look on his face.... I mean, his facial expressions have me busting a gut everytime I watch the damn movie. Slapstick humor is played out and boring. These actors have comedic presence. They do everything right. They don't rely on jumping around like Gumby to get a few cheap laughs. Take Mary's dad for example. The guy's funny without even trying. His damn smile alone has me rolling. His timing and delivery is right on the money. Amazing talent. All of the supporting cast is just pure class. To summerize, TSAM is a refreshing comedy that actually makes you laugh. Not a lot of comedies nowadays do that. This one sure does. Even if you've seen it dozens of times. Pure hilarity. And my opinion is the one that counts. Don't listen to these other 1-star morons.
