This first season of HBO's The Wire is one of television's best shows ever. The characterization and fascinating plotline just blows every other cop show out of the water. The lengthy story arcs are also wonderful to follow and unravel. I can't wait for this one to come out on DVD. NO OTHER SHOW MATTERS
The Wire is by far the best show on television besides the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers. If you ever get a chance to watch this show, start from the first episode. IT BUILDS, AND IT BUILDS. The writing, the characters, the acting are superb. WATCH THIS SHOW. I cannot wait for this DVD!
This show just knocked me out -- even better than "Homicide," "Sopranos," etc. My husband and I started taping episodes so we could replay them, in order to catch every bit of dialogue, but I need this DVD. I (straight, white, female non-drug dealer) never thought I'd relate to a gay drug dealer, but "Omar Don't Scare" has become my mantra. PLEASE put this DVD out.
