I have seen the first few episodes of season two's West Wing no fewer than 15 times, and still feel my heart race as Josh is brought into the ER. This show, with Thomas Schlamme and Aaron Sorkin at the helm, is strong medicine and dare I say, IMPORTANT in a way that TV usually fails to be.

West Wing inspires, instructs, excites, and Matters.
Especially now. And it does all that with good humor.

Parents, they may not catch all the details, but my 13 year old has gotten caught up in the show several times with great dinner conversation being the result. Our political age is so cynical. We owe it to our kids to bathe debate in as much light as possible.

Best Season of the Series
This is one of the all-time best dramas on television, but I'm glad it's over. The early seasons were by far the strongest and this one really shines. The two-part season premier is as good as it gets, giving flashbacks and providing how President Bartlett's team came together. I especially enjoyed the scenes between Sam and Josh and how the two of them happened to join Bartlett's campaign. The whole season is full of great plotlines and culminates near the end with Bartlett revealing he has MS. The season finale is one of the best I've seen, and the final scene with 'Brothers in Arms' playing in the background brings chills to anyone who watches this show. The West Wing is simply one of the best dramas ever made and this season is the best of them.

The best season of the best show
Though it may be only a hopeful interpretation of how our government should function, The West Wing was one of the best shows on network (or cable) television. The second season was particularly impressive.
