Excellent movie, excellent music FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
This is a quiet little movie, with some real delights within. My guys love the gaunty music, the ideas of turning into animals, and the bright colors. Its a great little classic, perfect for those rainy days when you can't go to the park!

IN A NUTSHELL: GREAT HIGH FANTASY UTILIZING CREATIVE ANIMATION

This little gem from Disney, in 1963, features some of the best story ideas ever put to animation. Indeed the animation truly makes this impossible and impressive spectacle believable. With the help of fine acting and scripting, 'THE SWORD IN THE STONE' is high fantasy entertainment of the highest order for the whole family.

NEVER A DULL MOMENT: MERLIN TAKES ARTHUR & US ALL ON THE ULTIMATE THRILL RIDE

Many of the incredibly fantastic things that children would like to see a wizard do for them, we see Merlin and the future King Arthur doing throughout the entire film. Arthur even gets to play pretend at being a fish, squirrel and a bird -- but is it just pretend or could it be real?!

EVEN A WIZARDS' DUEL: MADAME MIM'S BLACK MAGIC VERSUS MERLIN'S GOOD

That's right, a 'WIZARDS DUEL'. Ever wonder what kind of animals two dueling wizards would make themselves into in order to destroy the other wizard? Here's a hint - not all the animals exist in our world!

THE SWORD IN THE STONE IS A STORY WITH A BEGINNING - A MIDDLE & AN END

Many animated films made for children seem to make little sense and lack plots, motivation and direction. 'The Sword In The Stone' is NOT one of those films. From beginning to end all the fantastic things we see further the plot, even some of the oddist, yet catchy, songs ever put to words in a Disney feature presentation. Wolfgang Reitherman did a first rate job directing. For Animation Directors, this film boasted the talents of both Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, two of the legendary '9 old men' of Disney animation. The film is loosely based on the book, 'THE ONCE AND FUTURE KING'.
