Six Stars for this Perfect, Stirring film.
This book and movie was one-in-a-million. Being more of a romantic person myself, this was a novel and movie I never would have thought of, but I had to for school. We were supposed to be reading in class, but I cracked the book at home out of boredom and couldn't put it down. We had already watched 20 minutes of the film in class and I drank up the rest of the movie. My sister read it than we found it on DVD and bought it. I love this story so much, the all-star dream cast gives award worthy performances in this stirring tale of seven misfits pulling together to survive the East-side of the 1960s. The comraderie, drama, bittersweet comedy, and struggle these boys weather is heart-warming and emotional. C. Thomas Howell, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchio, Partick Swayze, Matt Dillon, and Tom Cruise were superb. I could watch it again and again....
The Amazing Movie-The Outsiders
Let's start with the cast, and what a perfect cast,(The Greasers) The role of The Curtis brothers were Ponyboy Curtis-C.Thomas Howell, Darrel Curtis-Patrick Swayze, and Sodapop Curtis-Rob Lowe, Dallas Winston-Matt Dillon, Two-Bit Matthews-Emilio Esteves, Steve Randell-Tom Cruise, and Johnny Cade-Ralph Maccio. There were also some inclusions of Diane Lane as Cherry Valance, Bob was Lief Garret, and even S.E Hinton was one of the nurses. This movie takes place in Oklahoma, where the people are split up into groups (The Socials and The Greasers) because of what they look like and their backgrounds. The movie seems to remind me of everyday life. I think the point of this movie was to tell you that no matter who you are and what your background is, you're you, and no one can take that away from you. After watching the movie and reading the book, i could actually see everything that happened, the details were so amazing. I mean from the Part at the movies to the fire...but i won't give the movie away, you'll just have to see it for yourself, and i advise you to go see that movie.
this Movie Rocks
I absolutely adore this movie! I am 13 and we read the book in my English-Language class, and then we watched the movie. I could never think that any other movie was better! First off it stars my favorite actor Tommy Howell! 2 words hott and great actor! I have loved him since he starred in the hi film E.T (the extra terrestrial)lol* This movie deals with teenagers living in a run down neighborhood somewhere in Tulsa Oklahoma. The Outsiders otherwise known as The Greasers are just normal teens that are living a hard life. They incude ( Thomas Howell, as Ponyboy, Ralph Maccio, as Johnny, Matt Dillon, as Dally, Patrick Swayze, as Darry, Rob Lowe, as Sodapop, Tom Cruise, as Steve, and Emilio Estevez, as Two-Bit. It also includes other actors such as Diane Lane, Leif Garret, Darren Dalton, and ichelle Meyrink. The movie as well as the book is very emotional too!I cried...lol* Well I think that teenagers should read it more often han the adults...they'll love it! lol* Well go out and rent the movie...but I do sugggest you read the book first...they are different in a lot of ways.
