quite stupid
Okay, after frodo finally got the ring into the lava pit, he like collapsed and a giant hawk thing took him back to rivendell, right? WHY DIDNT THE BIRD JUST CARRY HIM THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE

its just one example of tolkien's cheap, one-dimensional, stupid characters who have no common sense or intelligence. Let's not forget the movie's "the pit and the pendulum" ending where a bunch of green f*cking ghosts inexplicably kill all of the orcs.

Why didn't they just cut the ring in half so that frodo could never wear it? it wouldnt have mattered if it were in pieces when they tossed it in. They could have avoided all that bullsh*t. Everyone in the movie is a moron.

The birds were also doing stuff for Gandy all through the movies, so why didn't he just ask em to take the ring to mordor? there would have been no problems - birds cant wear rings!

also, in the sequence where they show the original owner of the ring (i dont remember his name), he's got a big freaking hand and the ring fits on it properly. Yet somehow it slips snugly over frodo's fingers jsut the same (lets remember his impish stature). And then it also fits on Gandolf. Mierda!

A Classic
I read these books as a child long before they were popular in the "escapist" 70's. The three movies do the books justice and bring the books to life. All three are excellent DVDs with great picture and sound. If only more such films were being made. I guess heroism, friendship and love are out of fashion, but the success of these films proves that they are not dead.

LOTR
I loved this movie as well as all the others. You should buy this. I can watch this over and over and never tire of it.
