Loads of fun and star power. FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
I just saw the sneak preview last night and loved it. I had heard I should expect a cross between Ocean's Eleven and The Score, and that was pretty close. It has a feel like The Score or Ronin, especially toward the beginning, but it turns out to be much more light-hearted, and sometimes downright silly, but in a good way. Great date movie if you want to show your girl how slick, chic and adventurous you are, especially when you leave the theater and drive really fast! The chase scenes were quite thrilling, I thought. I never buy movie soundtracks, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing this one on sale. Lots of sleek, orchestral drum-and-bass, perfect for pulling off a heist, with a couple of nice old rock tunes thrown in for good measure. As far as the stars, everyone was great. Ed Norton makes a pretty bad bad guy and is just revolting with that terrible mustache. I was impressed with Mark Wahlberg's portrayal of Charlie Croker, and of course Donald Sutherland was great and Charlize Theron was, well, what can I say? She's a gem. Seth Green's "Napster" character was a hoot. I definitely recommend this movie to, well, just about anyone. Awesome land- and cityscapes, too. Really nice cinematography. A near-perfect film.

Good entertainment ! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff. empty skull, sniff.
I will say that generally, it is a good entertainment. Norton is the nasty guy and he's cool in it. The plot and the acting are good and even if the end is very predictable, I will say that this movie is full of pressure and entertain perfectly. Good Job!
Don't expect a masterpiece after all.

The Italian Job- "It's Over When I Say It's Over" FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff.
The Italian Job, is a clever and sophisticated caper. Nice cars, nice actors, nice settings, pretty much everything you'd like and want to see in a good movie. Mark Wahlberg stars as the main character, Charlie Croker, a pro at what he does: stealing. He's an excellent thief, and the main planner for a crew of theives including, Mos Def, Seth Green, Jason Statham, Edward Norton and Donald Sutherland. The opening of the film starts in Venice with a smart heist in process. When the thieves have gotten what they wanted: 35 million dollars in gold bars, one the theievs (Edward Norton) goes bad and makes it off with the gold and kills Sutherland's character in the process.
Wahlberg soon recruits Charlize Theron (Sutherland's daugther) to help get revenge for their mentor and her father and to try and get possession of the gold back.
The film's premise is simple but cleverly done. I for one never knew being thief could require so much dedication and devotion. The main highlight of this film is the climax is the car chase involving those beloved mini-coopers. I don't think this film had the best car chase considering there were other films with a lot better chases including T3:Rise of the Machines, Bad Boys II and The Matrix Reloaded. Though it is pretty good and worthwhile. I luckily got to see this on the big screen and it actually is worth it. The DVD has some good features, including a lot of behind-the-scene featurettes.
The Italian Job is rated PG-13 for Violence and Some Language.
The violence includes bloodless gunplay and some fistfights. The language is occasional but not too strong. See it!
