Brilliant Retro-Vampire-Film Noire
A fine retro vampire film-noire movie with absolut great cast. The extraordinariest movie of Susan Sarandon, Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie!
A haunting film.
There are so many similarities, borderline rip-offs of Blade Runner, yet The Hunger achieves an ethereal sense of horror that it can call its own. It is a magnificent achievement, and one of the essential early 80s hyper-stylized films. It is too bad that the story is so vague, and that we could not delved deeper into the subtext of its twisted pathos.
