Who the hell are you
First off let me say that this film is one of my favorite westerns ,I saw it when I was a kid and loved it . I just picked it up about 6 months ago and my son who is 14 now has watched it about 7 times. Tuco is the our favorite guy in the film but clent and angel eyes are great as well.

Extended version inferior to 1998 short version dvd release
The stated purpose of the 2004 extended English version is to present the film as Leone intended it to be shown, which it does magnificently, but also proves that the director is not always the best judge of how to edit his work. The original 1998 restoration of the American cut is clearly a superior edit which moves the story along at an exciting pace. I disagree with the editors of the extended version that the missing scene of Tuco picking up his bandito buddies was necessary for continuity in the following scene--after all, there's no explanation for the appearance of Angel Eyes in the Union army camp, or the appearance of his 6 associates later--there's plenty of mystery in this film that needs no explanation, mystery is its great charm.

While the audiovisual restoration of the 2004 extended version is quite beautiful, especially the soundtrack, I miss the slightly warm color palate of the 1998 version and the blown-out highlights which make us really feel the heat of the desert. Too much perfection is the bane of digital formats, and in this restoration too much perfection has damaged the artistic effect we've become accustomed to with this film.
Nonetheless, if you love this film you must see this version and all of the related materials included in the set. After all, amigo, there are those who merely watch a film and some who really dig it...

This has to be Clint Eastwood Best Western movie!
There have never been a better cowboy. Also take a look at Outlaw Josey Wales and Pale Rider. The list goes on.
