Yar, you be here: The Crow > Customer Reviews The Crow Customer Reviews (16 - 18 of 51 Reviews)I LOVE THIS FILM SO MUCH
The Crow is one of my Fav. films ever. It's dark, it's sad, it's action packed. This is also the last Brandon Lee movie (He died during the film). God I love this film sssooo much. Don't bother with sequels
The sequels ruin this great work; dark, dramatic, and strangely hopeful. Good flick. WOW!!! What a great movie.
Last night i was watching TNT, and I caught this movie at 1:00. Man was i suprised.I had never heard anything about brandon lee except that he had died on the set of this movie, and that they had to use doubles and digital insertion of his face to complete it. What a great job they did with it. The acting in this was very good supringly for a superhero horror movie with a star whose career apparantly had flustered before this. It was one of the most intensly sarcastic, and sad performances ive see. You can totally simpathize with the character, which makes the violence all the more justified. The gang dudes did some bad things to Eric, and they deserved the violent ends that they got. He has some classic dialog. the villian is menacing to, very evil indeed, who i dont know but he had a role in Alien Resurrection. Ernie Hudson was good as the cop who befriends Eric because he understands his dilema. The cinematography was good to. the city that the Crow stalks is dark and grimy looking, perfecly fitting the mood of the story. Some scenes just really have a power to them just thanks to the production. like the Crow wears all black and a black trenchcoat. in one seen his young friend gets kidnapped and he bursts throught the church doors with this heavenly white light bathing him. it like symbolism for the character. The action is good in the movie to. This director has seen atleast one John Woo movie, but what i like about it here is that it is not overdone. The Crow doesn't have to dive around and slide across the floor, even though he does have a gun in each hand. He gets lit up with a thousand bullets and just keeps coming. this is a shootout that occurs towards the end and it is very good. there is one image in this movie that i thought was just dynamite. After the Crow eliminates one of his killers, he lays down gasoline in the shape of a crow and lights it on fire. They then get one of the coolest shots in a movie ever with an over head and slightly angled camera shot which shows Eric in his leather cloaked coolness looking down at his sign. Pure gold. When you see this it is sad to think that Lee died , because he displayed genuine talent here, and could have been great. But in the very least, the last movie he was in is was a great tribute to a talented young man who could unfortunetly couldn't continue his career. He will be remembered though. 5 stars
