An Unfortunate DVD Release
First of all... let me start by saying I LOVE THIS MOVIE. It's one of my favorite comedies fo all time. The decisions Jeff Bridges makes as an actor in this film are simply amazing.

So why only TWO STARS? Because the DVD is terrible. Before you play the movie a menu page offers you STANDARD or WIDESCREEN formats, however, the widescreen format is just the standard pan and scan with black bars added. You never get to see the full scope of the film as it existed in the theater which is unfortunate because Roger Deakin's cinematography is so good. The widescren version is actually worse than the pan and scan! How stupid is that?

I want a NEW release of this film with the true widescreen and more special features because this is a poor, poor excuse for a DVD.

This movie is great! It's my favorite of its kind. The Big Lebowski is the best and most hilarious comedy that John Goodman, Jeff Bridges,and John Turturro have ever been in. This movie is The Coen brother's masterpiece with a creative and unique plot. There are movies with detective, cops, spies, tough guys and heroes doing what they do best...and then there's this movie with a real life loser doing what he never ment to do just to get out of what he never ment to get into along with a crazy bunch of characters that make one of the weirdest must see movies.
