Lucas & Paramount -- Issue "Raiders of the Lost Ark" solo!
I cannot rate this trilogy release beyond the one star (I'd skip rating it at all, but the Amazon system won't allow it), as I REFUSE to purchase it. I Loved, Loved, LOVED the now-classic first film...only tolerated the second...and thoroughly enjoyed the third. However...the only one I MUST have on DVD is the first one.

But...I cannot (at present) BUY What I Want, because in their arrogance, George Lucas and Paramount assume I Must Have ALL of their product in this case, leaving me No Choice Except to Buy Three or Buy NONE. Ridiculous -- and with luck, the market will convince them of this. If not (shrugs) I buy none and I guess I live without it and keep running my VHS tape until it breaks.

I understand the Godfather Trilogy DVD Box set didn't do as well as was orignally hoped, forcing the studio to release the first film separately...I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another such event.

INCREDIBLE package!
What a gem! This is what all DVD box sets should aspire to. I have not one complaint. I bought this set and was thrilled. What I hadn't counted on was the awesome picture clarity and the sound. Each film is in 5.1 Dolby surround, with a super-clean image.

I use a Samsung DVD player on a Toshiba HDTV running progressive scan, and let me tell you - these three films look superb! I am one happy happy customer indeed!

I love Indiana Jones. I grew up with this series and it's a big part of my personal film vocabulary. These films were so "neat" [for lack of a better word]. They are an interesting experiment that totally works. They are now a legacy and I cannot wait for Indy 4 in 2005.

Don't hesitate to buy this DVD set: it's well worth every single penny! Great job mastering three great movies.

Widespread Problem of this DVD set
Beaware.

I returned this item 3 times because disk 3 ALWAYS comes defective and does not play the entire movie.

Amazon.com refused to send me any more replacement because the problem is widespread. They don't know when the studio is going to fix this problem.

If you don't wanna risk yourself to get in the same problem as mine, WAIT for a while (until the studio fixes the problem) to purchase this set.
