Yar, you be here: Tales From The Crypt Presents - Demon Knight > Customer Reviews Tales From The Crypt Presents - Demon Knight Customer Reviews (1 - 3 of 22 Reviews)How can you call this genuine horror?
First off you need to know I like horror movies. I was looking foward to watching this movie because I heard it was so awesome and unique. This movie is like a long drawn out lame episode of tales from the crypt show. I am a fan of the show and the crypt keeper puppet is real cool. So I watch this movie and it starts of real slow and with a total lack of suspense or intrigue. Until Billy Zane and no he did not steal the show away and make it great. He came into the movie as the devil but dressed as a cowboy Um ok. Then he assaults a motel in some desert and raises some demons from the ground with his neon blood. The cool part was how raunchy and wicked the demons looked. The gore and effects get a B+ for that era but that doesn't carry this movie far because the demons took forever to come out of the ground and wreak havock. So the entire movie is about random people escaping and killing off the demons in corny and campy style. Yes there is a bit of blood and gore splashed here and there. Keep in mind this is all inside a run down motel in the desert somewhere. Last Billy Zane falls in love with Jada Pinket smith and she some how kills him off by spitting the magical holy blood on him (brought into the present from an outlaw from the past). The last part is when Billy Zane turns into a giant flying demon then dies because of Jada Pinket Smith which was the only real cool feature of the movie besides the talking crypt keeper and the nasty as heck looking demons. I suggest you rent this movie for as low a price as possible if you really badly want to watch it. Not suggested for buying at all. Demon Night......
Good movie. If you are a Tales From The Crypt fan, you will surely enjoy this one. I think this is the best one yet. Of course, with Billy Zane playing the collecter in this one, what's more to say??? Another great job by Zane. Definetely worth renting for those who have not seen it before. Especially for Billy Zane fans!!!!!! All hail the Cryptkeeper!
Tales from the crypt as you might know is the popular horror series that was on HBO during the early ninties so this film is the first movie to be made from that series. The film is absolutley fantastic and has alot of gore, nudity and humor in it unfortunately the sequal that was released after this was terrible and wasn't even worth it anyway the film starts of with a small segment where the cryptkeeper is directing a horror film then tells his usual stuff like some lame jokes then the real film starts with a car chase and offcourse Billy Zane as the collector was fantastic in his role he was hillarious and scary at the same time, William Sadler plays Brayker who is a drifter that stumbles upon a motel and its inhabitants and is trying to hide from the collector who happens to want a medalion that Brayker has, the collecter also summons up some demons from hell in a very cool scene so he could create alot of havoc, the film was also an homage to older horror films like the evil dead and night of the living dead as you'll see later when the characters are all stuck in this motel surrounded by demons. All the characters were great in this film and you also get a bit of background with each one of them which is rare especialy in a gory horror film like this. The film also stars Jada Pinket Smith, CCH Pounder who gets her arm ripped off in this film and Thomas Haden Church who plays the obnoxious jerk and some other actors that I don't recognise all this makes for a great and enjoyable horror film that I highly recomend that you watch.
