Stupid...
This film was mildly interesting in the first few minutes, where the "city" boyfriend proposes romantically to Reese's character, but after she goes back to the "country" town, it became dull and stupid. Basically, it was just a bunch of people being alternately "cutesy" and nasty, while they stumbled their way through a completely implausible storyline. Reese Witherspoon can do better than this trash. Hopefully, Vanity Fair will be better.
Very Romantic
A very cute movie with many funny parts. This is a romantic comedy film, a feel good movie about a girl from a small town who realized her dream of becoming a popular fashion designer in New York. She became engaged to a high profile senator's son and things were finally happening for her. There was only one problem that she has to fix that required her to go back to her small town (something she really did not want to do). But that was the only way to realize a future dream with her fiance. Coming back to her small town brought back many things, including an old dream from her past she has longed forgotten. Then things became more complicated. It was a grave mistake to come back (or was it?). I enjoyed the film and I am sure many will as well.
You Can Go Home Again
Sweet Home Alabama is a really cute movie. The cast is superb - Candice Bergen is a power hungry mayor and Ethan Embry as the hick with a secret - and so is the soundtrack. I like Melanie's transformation from hoity-toity to down home during the movie, Reese Witherspoon does a convincing job. I lost it during the scene in the coon dog cemetery when a lot of background info came out. There are also quite a few good, clean laughs. All in all, this is a movie I could watch over and over.
