If you need to unwind a little and let your mind turn to the utterly silly side of life, let Strange Brew be your outlet. I can remember the first time I saw this movie. I was twelve years old and I laughed myself silly. So many years later, it still packs a whallop. I had the pleasure of introducing the McKenzie Bros. to my teenage daughter, and she loved it. This movie is a classic of cult-side proportions. Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as well as the ensemble cast of misfits is hilarious. So sit down, pop a brew, put on a tuke and take off...to the Great White North. You won't regret it...
Awful transfer of a great movie
I've tried out two copies of this new release so far. On both of them the transfer for the main movie is absolutely awfull. The visual portion of the movie "skips" every minute or so (actually, it doesn't skip, it sort of stalls or something). The audio continues along just fine, but its painful to watch with the screen constantly jerking. Odd thing is that all the special features work great. I tried cleaning my player and other tricks, but after taking back my first purchase for an exchange and the 2nd one skips at exactly the same places, the conclusion can only be the transfer itself. What a waste. This movie is still great.
