Not just Liv, but there is Liv
I agree with the reviews to date. Liv has such a beauty but this movie is not about nudity. I think the directory uses nudity to prolong the plot, if there is one. I have learned not to expect an intense plot from this director and as such can relax into his films. Combine physical beauty, wonderful scenery, and artsy acting and this makes a nice afternoon.
Truly this film would only rate 3 stars if it were not for the nubile beauty of Liv. I think previous reviewers have said that better than I can.

stealing her panties.... would have been a better idea...
This was a classy film...but the Capt. would have loved to see more of this tall, lanky, teenager's body in the nude! Her youthful sexuality was the true star of this film. Shots of her extremely sexy "bare feet" alone.. rate the full 3 stars I have given it! Oh to tie up those ankles!!!

The story was rather weak...the settings (in Italy)however, were stupendous..the other cast members were cast decently enough...really the only thing missing was more of Liv Tyler's naked body...there is precious little of any real revealing shots of her...but she still commanded each scene she was in...

Don't misunderstand this review here... please...she is not a "budding Hollywood superstar" by any means...she is just a "hot" young teen, whose very long legs and rather sexy flat chest, make any man (or bi-friendly woman) long to spend the night with her in bed....

Steal her panties off of her and show her rolling around in the Italian vinyards and this would have been "a 5 star film"! ;)

Watchable Movie
Stealing Beauty is a gentle romantic drama and coming-of-age tale that provides comfortable rest stops along the way for the travel weary viewer. In the story not being aware of her real father parallels Liv Tyler's real life situation. She's the daughter of a famed rock and roll star, but was raised believing that her father was someone else.The film's most moving scene is when Lucy does meet her real father.this stunningly shot film hardly ever gets beyond the physical layers of its beauty. The result is, that it plays more like a voyeuristic film that a dirty old man made than one of a great filmmaker. Though there's not much happening it is somewhat erotic and warm, and pleasant to gaze at. The story is so simple, yet at the same time, Tyler's character is wholly unbelievable as a real person.
