DEFENDING GEORGE LUCAS FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff.
I'm an average Star Wars fan; I like the films, but I'm no extreme die hard. Anyway, it seems every reviewer craps on George Lucas for everything now: the new movies and the changes in the original trilogy. I just have one thing to say:

STOP YOUR WHINING!

How many of you were actually involved in the process of creating Star Wars? Yeah, that's what I thought. BASICALLY NO ONE EXCEPT LUCAS. These are his friggin movies. He is allowing us to enjoy them, and if you don't like it, then SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

Do I love the new movies?
No

Do I love all the new changes to the originals?
No

I do, however, respect the fact that George Lucas is trying to give us the best Star Wars experience possible. He has made changes he felt were necessary for people to get maximum enjoyment out of the films.

Also, if you really feel that the unaltered originals are the best, then watch them instead of the new DVDs. As far as I'm concerned, Lucas has not ordered a massive burning of all original Star Wars movies. For everyone else you felt the series needed a touch up, enjoy these new DVDs. We can all sit down and watch the version that we personally want.

Remember Lucas is not out to spite you; he has given us some incredible movies, and he simply wants to give world the most complete and enjoyable movies he can.

Awesome trilogy, best edition yet!! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
Out of all of the editions of the trilogy I've seen, this is the best yet.
The sound quality for "A New Hope" is a lot better than when I first watched it. Back then, it just sounded like an old movie, but now, it sounds like it's just been made. They've added bonus sceens, which I like, because it gives more meat to the story. Vader's voice, is wonderfull, and they've redone sceens with the Emperor (my fave charactor). All in all, this trilogy is well worth the 40 bucks I paid for it. So just go on out and buy it.

Still love it even with the changes... FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff.
I don't really have a strong desire to go into the whole Star Wars debate. Yes, I think George Lucas could make a great deal of fans happy (and a great deal of money) to release the original untampered movies on DVD. No, I don't necessarily think that putting Hayden Christensen in Jedi was the worst thing he could have done...before you "BOO! HISS!" me, think about it...what was the last face Anakin wore just before he came to be Darth Vader? He didn't look like Sebastian Shaw, he looked like Hayden Christensen. I think there's a certain logic to it, wherein they revert to the way they were at their strongest point of being Jedi, and where was Anakin the strongest but at the end, just before he became Darth Vader? I know hardcore fans won't necessarily agree, but I can see why they did it that way....Obi-Wan was strongest with the force just before Darth Vader struck him down, and Yoda...well, Yoda looks like Yoda. I am just thrilled that I could go out and finally buy these movies on DVD to share with my sweet 3 year old son, who is already turning into a huge Star Wars fan. I'll take what I can get, and whereas movies go, remastered or not, it's still one of the greatest.
