Thank god for Laserdisc
Since it appears I will again be able to buy another new version of the edits of these films I don't want, I am extremely thankful that I purchased these three films, unedited, in their original theatrical release form while they were available on laserdisc. Now I just need to buy a DVD burner and put them on DVD so I can get rid of my laserdisc player eventually.

Hey George! How about you stop being selfish and give the fans...*YOUR CUSTOMERS* (who should always be right!) what they really want? How does releasing the originals on DVD, along with the 50 million "revised" versions you seem compulsively unable to stop fiddling with adversely affect you or anyone else? AFAICS you are merely cheating yourself out of money that should rightfully go to you and everyone who gets royalties. I'm sure the pirates in China, Indonesia and Malaysia thank you from the bottom of their hearts for providing their livelihood though.

I happen to like nice men!
I am getting this for my dad for christmas. He'll love it! However, I'm wondering if I can find it cheaper elsewhere...

I'm waiting for the criterion edition
Just a rumour, but if it's true a criterion version of the "original" Star Wars might be out. Some disadvantages would be that only 'A New Hope' would come out; this is because it's was one of the most important films for too many reasons to comment here, but that I'm sure every fan will know anyway. Also, some people know Criterion version is a bit more costly (it will propably cost as much as the entire star wars dvd trilogy.)keep your fingers crossed and hopefully Mr. Lucas will fight the dark side and make it happen.
