The Force is With Us as Original Trilogy Make Their DVD Debut!
All three 'classic' Star Wars films are here and accounted for- except with some slight and not so subtle modifications to make them fit in better with the modern CGI-prequel trilogy age.
While most of the changes are not that bad, one or two still defy explanation or acceptance by older fans who are irate that George Lucas would gut the movies they grew up on and alter them in such a way that some of the magic might be lost.
While these films do represent Lucas' true vision for the Star Wars Saga, I can relate to those who would have liked to see the original, unedited versions be given the DVD treatment.
But this box set is still very much deserving of your time and money, so if you want to see the old movies in a brand new light, go add The STAR WARS TRILOGY to your DVD collection at once! The Force never looked brighter!
Star Wars Fanatic
The Star wars Trilogy is better than ever despite certain people not enjoying the changes. The one change that should not have been made was Boba Fett's voice. It was an unecessary change. As for the ending of Return of the Jedi changing Anakin Skywalker back to a young man in a way made sense. Everyone knows Anakin became Darth Vader was he was young and when he got older his body never really fully healed so appearing as an old ghost doesn't look right because his body was burnt up while he was a young man not when he was older. Anakin returning as a young man was more moving and dramatic and the chorus singing in the background sounded so angelic and powerful showing that good had conquered evil. It was like a story from the bible.
The changes are minor!
Before I asked for this as a birthday gift, I looked at the reviews on Amazon. I heard that there were lots of changes in the movies. I still asked for the DVD set. I don't watch the movies 24/7 unlike some people(ha-ha). If you don't watch the movies often(the older versions, ect), you won't notice anything. If you are a person that watches all 3 of the oringinal movies 1 once everyday, you will notice changes. However, there is a very big change that George Lucas made to Episode VI. The person that plays Anakin Skywalker now, Hayden Christan, replaces the other actor that played him in the end of the movie. These movies are still worth watching.
