Splendor in the Grass Reviews
One of the First Films to Portray that Love really is just a form of Mania and Psychosis
Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood were beautiful, brilliant, and tragic ... and this film was one of the first to reveal the dark side of what we call love. When Bud goes off to Yale, the girl he leaves behind goes crazy and is institutionalized. Elia Kazan's delved in the world that is mistaken for "love" - mania, psychosis, and delusion ... no wonder this love affair was tragic from the start.
Memorable drama for any baby boomer....
Thoroughly entertaining drama involving Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood in starring roles about unrequited love in times of tough family values and expectations.
I have enjoyed this movie for decades on TV and VHS and now complete the circle with my own CD format.
Handy hint: keep a box of Kleenex within easy reach!
