Harmless entertainment with good chemestry
A fashion editor played by Anne Heche on vacation with her b/f gets stuck on an desserted island with her pilot played by Harrison Ford. She gets sent to another location by her boss and the plane goes down on the way there. While on the island she slowly starts falling for Harrison Ford while getting chased by guys that kill for money and shoot cannon balls at them from their boat. Sounds a lot like pirates doesn't it ? lol. I know that is silly but still this is a fun and harmless movie. Plus Ford and Heche have good chmestry and are fun together.
It's David Schwimmer I don't like as the b/f. He's just not believeable. When he thinks she might've died and is supposed to be dramatic it's just an example of bad sitcom acting. For a guy who once said he doesn't want to be remembered as Ross in Friends his whole life...he's Ross from Friends here. It's like where is Racheal and does she approve of you at a romantic spot with Anne Heche ? I admit this isn't a great movie but whenever I see it on cable I just can't help watching it.
If you like Harrison....
This was supposed to be a "remake" of African Queen--great idea--great casting--but the script is weak in terms of dialogue and the actors are left having to make some really inane banter sound interesting. But, if you like Harrison Ford you'll enjoy the movie...and Hesche is good enough to make you forget that she was in the tabloids at the time with Ellen DeGeneres.....
