Fresh and fabulous
I got into this series when it was almost over and can recommend it. Yes, it's explicit at times so beware of that, but it's fresh and fun and most importantly absolutely fabulous. The characters are all played wonderfully by this cast and the stories have you chatting later about it with your friends saying things like "GEEZ, I'd never put up with that" etc. Depending on your favorite character as a woman it's easy to find yourself in one of the cast.

Whether you've seen the series before on HBO or not, this DVD is sure to engross you. Finally a show that is right on target with regards to female sexuality! Sex and the City features intelligent, humorous, and (most importantly) realistic dialogue on all sorts of sexuality and romance themes.
The writers of Sex and the City are gutsy enough to tackle controversial yet incredibly relevant topics that urban women really discuss - such as threesomes and masturbation. Amid all of the girl talk, relationships form and dissolve - creating often romantic and bittersweet episodes.
Sarah Jessica Parker is cute as ever, with a smart New Yorky edge. Her co-stars are talented actresses in their own right, and they seem like real women - both in looks and personality.
One small warning - this DVD can be addictive. I stayed up all night watching it the first night after I bought it!
great series
i love the episodes of sex and the city, but i wish there were more of them on this dvd. there were only 12 episodes in this first season, while non-HBO shows have 22 or more episodes in a season. i just wished they made more!!! also, the day the package came in the mail the flimsly holder for the dvds broke, so I just hold them in regular disc-holders now. more durable cases, more episodes!!!
