PSEUDO-INTELLECTUAL DRIVEL! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff. empty skull, sniff. empty skull, sniff. empty skull, sniff.
(...)This reveals exactly why the terrorists hate our country. Shallow, materialistic, decadent, pseudo-intellectual drivel. I remember hearing one sentence of the show (before throwing the tv out the window) where the main character said "I finally realized" followed by some pseudo-existential "witticism" with a straight(dumb)face. The only positive aspect of this show is to teach kids to stay in school.

The beginning. FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff. empty skull, sniff.
The first season was just ok, it had more of an unfocused feel to it. The show also had more of a grainier texture to it. The first season really doesn't deal with relationships that much, it focuses mostly on random dating, which makes it hard to get a reading on these women aside from their generic label (the sexually adventurous one, the cynic, the uptight one). Only SJ Parkers character is explored deeper, even though her character is mostly negative, self-absorbed, neurotic and prone to relationship sabotage. As for people who critize SJP looks, she isn't supposed to be a model she's supposed to be a normal woman who is comfortable with her looks, a woman normal women can relate to. Overall an ok season. Where The Adventure Begins! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
I bought "Sex..." one and two at the same time, to catch up on all I'd missed previously. I'd never seen these episodes, having started watching during season 3, and I was curious about the history between Carrie and Big, as well as having a thirst for a new fix of this great HBO original program.............. I was surprised that the very first show (pilot) was pretty weak, but that is the ONLY episode I wasn't crazy about. Getting to know Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha from the start is great fun. As the first season goes on, we really get to know the four distinct and seperate characters with their common problem, finding a normal man in the Big Apple. ........... I really find this show very entertaining, and am very happy with my two "Sex..." sets. If you've never seen the show, or started late like I did, here's a chance to catch up on what you've missed. I'm sorry I didn't tape season three, but I'm wising up and taping all the shows now, new and repeat, when aired. ............ For the single lady who is searching for her prince, or for the married lady like me who has been lucky enough to find hers, at some point you'll relate to this show, or at the very least, you'll be entertained. Even if you have a different agenda, you'll STILL enjoy hanging out with these four friends. ........... For the men who are "Out There," although I can't speak about how they might view the series, I can assume that the average man most probably won't enjoy this as much as women do. Men are often unympathetic characters on the show. Yes, that's an understatement! ............ I think an open minded man might watch this to get a handle of what the opposite sex might be thinking or going through. Let's face facts though, most WON'T want to get in touch with their "feminine side." That said, the married woman will probably enjoy this as a solo viewing pleasure. However, I think that women who are single, will love the show, and feel like..."Hey, it's not me, it's YOU" toward their relationships, and about the whole single and dating experience in general. ............ Either way, every time you pop it in the VCR, it's a girls night out in the safety of your own home. Get yours and enjoy a well done vicarious thrill in the single world.
