Great Movie! I Was Born In The Castle HONEST!
Parts of this terrific movie were filmed at the Flete Estate inbetween Torquay & Plymouth - I was born in the "castle" that has the River Yealm in the background.
Dave Hill from Slade was born there too and I met him in the 70s - nice guy - superb movie
This is not BS!

Je ne sais quoi
This is a wonderful movie. I actually didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I thought it would be drawn out and overacted, like many movies from that time period tend to be. It was beautiful and beautifully acted. The characters all brought a certain "je ne sais quoi" to the role. I often felt as if I were looking at these people living their daily lives. The characters are very believable and as I mentioned je ne sais quoi, is the only phrase to describe the players--they added an indescribable something to the roles. Perhaps the only character that almost fell out of good graces with me was Colonel Brandon. I found his voice a little annoyingly coarse and stoic, but perhaps that's what the Austen book was going for anyway. Once again, Excellent movie, excellent writing, acting, directing, ergo, it makes for excellent viewing.
