Greatest War Ever
SPR was incredible from beginning to end. The most powerful and moving scene being the beginning which could and probably is the most horrific war scene ever filmed for a movie. The 20 minute re-inactment of Omaha Beach shows dipictions of young and old men, blown to bits, decapitated, holding their intestines and fluids in and screaming in pain for their mothers probably making most veiwers hide under their seats. Of course SPR was the wake up call to anybody who thought that war was triumphant music playing while 10 men take 100's without reloading once while the enemy soldiers just get hit and fall down onto the ground like young boys playing pretend. SPR was nothing like that. The biggest reasons why it had such an impact was because you can feel the emotions of the characters and that there was no music during the battle sequences. During the film not one gun was fired off while music was playing. It was an incredibly moving movie and i can tell ever since i saw it it has been my favourite.

Incredible!!!
The Normandy Beach scence was perhaps the best war scence ever created. Be forewarned, though, it ACCURATELY recreates the invasion. Within the first ten minutes of the film, you've seen men chopped down by gun fire, lose limbs, get blown in half, burn to death, etc. Its a gruesome and desturbing site. The movie was very well done, and I STRONGLY suggest you watch it.

Legendary classic
this war film is dpressing but is the reals tory. Every American should see this movie.
