Radar Men From The Moon Reviews
Next Exciting Episode
Although not in the same league as ..., as this Republic serialwas made at the time when the popularity of the serials were waning;it still gives us all the thrills and spills that we come to expectfrom the Republic stable. In this one we have a new characterCommander Cody in the same suit worn by his predecessors. The plot isabout aliens from the moon out to take over earth, and our intrepidhero is the nemesis. We have the charismatic Clayton Moore in the roleof a bad guy and in every episode he outshines our hero in all areas. He should have been Commander Cody. The picture and sound quality ofthe DVD is very good, especially the latter. The special effects haveno comparison to what we are used to nowadays, but back in the 50's itwas considered as pretty well done. Some of them is down right sillynow. Each and very episode contains the usual shoot 'em ups, andfisticuffs. The action never stops and the pace never slows down. Wealso have the usual cliff- hangers, some of which is seen many timesbefore. None the less this still takes us back to the Saturdaymatinees where we sat and waited breathlessly for the "nextexciting episode" featuring our favourite action hero. Isincerely hope that eventually we will have more serials from theRepublic Studios released on DVD. It will be most welcome. END
great fun
Picked this up because it was cheap and gave it a look and loved it. From the reviews on here there are some awful copies out there, but mine is fine and not by Whirlwind. This is a good time and as 'hokey' as it is I really love this serial.
