Great movie, poor format: Why only widescreen?
The movie itself is great and I give it five stars.
I give 2 stars to the company that produced the DVD.
The widescreen version seems to be a trimmed version of
the fullscreen. It should be simply and exactly stated on the box if it is the original widescreen version or a modified
widescreen version. Why wasn't the full screen version released.
Why is it that some companies feel that they have to release
two versions of the same movie (Widescreen and fullscreen)and sell them seperately. You can get many entire seasons of TV shows on DVDs for what it costs to by two movies. For the price of movies, both formats should be sold in one set. Some companies such as Columbia Tristar include both a widescreen and full screen format. This makes sense and gives us more for our money and makes all consumers happier. I recommend that other companies follow their example, after all a lot of us have both vhs and dvd copies of the same movies.

What was the point of this film?
I, like my wife, was looking forward to seeing this movie due to all the hype surrounding it. However, I have to say that I spent the first 20 mins waiting for the film to start, then the remainder of the film for a plot to become clear. To be honest, I should have given up after the first 20 mins.

The dialogue in this film is tripe - just pointless and contrived. There is no demonstrable character development, especially of the aunts, and the result is that I really didn't care whether any of them lived or died.

The, ahem, "horror" element consisted of a toad vomiting a signet ring (ooh scary) and frankly their treatment of a Satanic ritual, as one reviewer put it, like a Tupperware party, was truly ridiculous.

I have given this move 1 star, because Amazon does not provide a facility for negative stars. Avoid.

What A Movie!!!!
This movie is one of the most captivating stories I have had the pleasure of watching. It allows you to go to another world, if only for a short time, where anything is possible. A person can relate to the characters as well, which offer a refreshing look at what magic is or can be, what life would be like with those "special" powers, and how fun it could actually be to be a "witch". I have personally watched this movie about 20 times, and to tell you the truth, it never gets old! Allow yourself the indulgence to "go away" for a bit, and enjoy this movie!
