Planes, Trains and Automobiles Reviews
EXTRADIONARY MOVIE
OF ALL THE JOHN CANDY AND STEVE MARTIN MOVIES THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST ONE I HAVE EVER SEEN.
THE FIRST TIME I SAW THIS MOVIE I KNEW I HAD TO HAVE IT, OF COURSE I GOT IT ON VHS, AND THEN LATER ON DVD. STILL TODAY I LOVE TO WATCH IT OFTEN.
ALL THEY GO THRU, ALL THEY ENDURE, JUST TO GET HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS (THANKSGIVING).
BUT IT WAS NICE AND STILL TODAY IT BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES, WHEN AT THE TIME THAT STEVE GOES HOME, HE STARTS TO REKINDLE ALL WHAT WENT THRU BETWEEN THEM AND THEN REALIZE THAT JOHN HAS BEEN ALONE FOR A LONG TIME AND GOES BACK TO RESCUE HIM AT THE TRAIN STATION.
STEVE DECIDES TO BRING JOHN TO HIS HOME, PRESENTING JOHN TO HIS FAMILY AND HELPING HIM THE WAY JOHN HELP HIM. AND THE LOOK JOHN MAKES WHEN HE LOOKS WHAT HE LOST AND MUST TREASURE....A FAMILY.
They Aren't Pillows! Funny Stuff
This movie has become something of a cult classic. I crack up whenever I see it. Steve Martin is great as a regular guy caught in a wave of bad luck. John Candy is hilarious as Del, the travel companion from Hell.
Of course, Candy is a bit over the top. Nobody is THAT annoying! The performance is something of a caricature, I suppose. I can't imagine anyone as overbearing and boorish as that character, so starved for attention, thinking everyone cares about his boring anecdotes.
Funny movie!
