This is a movie, not a documentary
People forget that this is a MOVIE, not a documentary, I've never seen so many nitpicking reviews. Who honestly cares if a real fighter plane can't fly 25 feet off the ground? Or if Roosevelt couldn't stand up on his own?

The action sequences in this movie are worth every penny. I have yet to see a better looking movie, the effects were crazy and the action was intense. I didn't buy this DVD to learn about Pearl Harbor, if you want to learn then go buy a documentary or read a book, but if you want a good action packed, intense movie, twisted around a pretty good love story then watch this.

whats was this movie about again?
If not for the title you could have made this movie about anything because thats what it TRIED to be was everything to everyone and what it ends up being is over produced crap. I had heard from everyone i knew that this movie had missed the mark but you cant funnly understand how far until you waste 3 hours viewing it. Probably the longest 3 hours of my life, obsolutely awful.

An excellent historic drama...
This movie really gives the viewer a good sense of the battle that unfolded at Pearl Harbor. The movie contains what I believe are some of the most realistic, accurate battle scenes ever filmed. This 2-DVD set contains some interesting extra features that contribute to the understanding of the actual event as well as the film. An excellent History Channel documentary is included that is a must-see. No commentary tracks are on this version of the DVD. The audio and video quality of the film, is tremendous, and the special effects are outstanding.
