McQueen at his best
Steve Mcqueen's brightest moment was playing Henri 'Papillon' Charriere in the remake of the book of Charriere's experience as a prisoner of the French Penal Colony. "Papi" endures a lot of mental and physical hardships mostly due to his persistency to escape and find freedom. In an epic adventure landing him in impossible and remote areas, Papi never loses his marbles (completely) and stays the course. With Dustin Hoffman co-starring as Dega, he adds a nice comic relief in serious situations. The two manage to survive and their last scene is one the most memorable in Hollywood history.

A long, long adventure, but certainly worth watching.
