The BEST Series EVER
Intelligent and beautifully written with a unifying theme in each remarkable episode. Excellent cast, perfectly chosen for their parts. This series just got better and better as it explored many diverse philosophical, ethical and social issues. Often very funny and touching at the same time.

BUYERS BEWARE!!! $59.98 List price for 8 episodes!
Don't be fooled by the "Season 1" title. This release is a 2 disc set with only 8 episodes.
This is astronomical compared to other TV shows on DVD.
Universal are gouging fans for every penny they can get. And don't let them tell you the music clearance costs are the reason.
Freaks and Geeks, a similarly brilliant show with enormous music costs is currently available for pre-order at $69.98 for a 6 disc set with all 18 episodes, all the original music, 29 commentary tracks, over 60 deleted scenes, and loads more.
I am a huge fan of Northern Exposure and have been eagerly awaiting its release on DVD but this price is a joke. Seasons 1 & 2 were officially only 8 episodes so we can expect the $59.98 list price for these. If you buy into this then don't complain when Season 3, which had 22 episodes has a list price of $179.98, or is broken down into 2 disc "Volumes" so they can really screw the customer.
Don't help the major studios justify charging comsumers ridiculous prices. Complain to Universal and don't buy it until they lower the price.
Whoever at Universal making these decisions should be fired! It's a DISGRACE.

AT LAST SOME EXPOSURE!
I've never seen an American show such as this. It's simply brilliant, it protraits almost every human behaviour, and it teaches a lot of lessons. And it finally arrives as a DVD pack! I don't know if anyone with direct contact with the DVD-makers reads this, but if they do, try do bring the show in DVD to Europe! I'm a buyer, that's for sure. I totally recommend "Northern Exposure", it's definitely a winner.
