I'd Give It 100 Stars if i could!
This film brought me to tears. Nights of Cabiria is the first film I've seen from this brilliant Italien director. Cabiria is such an enduring character that will always be remembered for her innocence, spunk, and most importantly, her defiant spirit after going through so much humiliation by scumbags who took advantage of her golden heart. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO EVERYONE.

Despite the pain and humiliation suffered by its lead heroine, Federico Fellini's "Nights of Cabiria" is a tale of hope and courage. It is a testament to the human spirit and its remarkable ability to cope with the hardships of life.

Streetwalker Cabiria (Giulietta Masina) has always wanted to enter a relationship based upon true love. Two recent incidents involving a regular customer and a famous actor have dimmed her enthusiasm but things change when Cabiria attends a magic show. While agreeing to be a participant in the magician's routine, a man in the audience become enamored with her. He seeks out Cabiria and eventually asks her to marry him.

The heart and soul of "Nights of Cabiria" is its wonderful central performance. Masina turns in a flawless effort and creates a character that the viewer both sympathizes with and cheers for. While at times Cabiria comes across and simple and naïve, there is a strength and determination to her that is nothing less than inspiring. Fellini on his part has made a film free of the abstractions that would characterize his later works. He treats "Nights of Cabiria" as a straightforward and simple character study that reminds us all of how important it is to retain one's optimism. Wonderful and vibrant, this is a film full of charm and tenderness.
