A Bit OuTDATeD
This film is a much lighter side of Clive Barker still incorporating weird looking creatures without to much gore or fright. Would be a let down for Hellraiser fans wanting more fright and goth gore. Still would not be disappointed love his imagination and his unique vision. I love Clive Barker PERIOD.

Clive Barker's Cabal
Barker directed this surreal version of his short story, Cabal, which remains faithfull to the texture of the short story as well as the plot line. Craig Sheffer is at his best as a tortured young psychotic, who may also be a serial killer, but the true delight of the cast is director, David Cronenberg as Boon's psychiatrist.
If you like Clive Barker then you will appreciate Nightbreed. Barker fills his print media with descriptions of layered scent and sight that provide an otherworldly feel to everything he has written; visually he does the same in Nightbreed. Though the violence and gore abound they belong to Barker's world not ours.
All in all Nightbreed succedes as a Clive Barker vehicle and what more can you ask?
