Monster
That is amazing, This movie changed my point of view of the real world, the one we are living and we didn't like to see. Extremely disturbing movie. I stoped twice the player, one to read again the name of the actress and second to read the synopsis, this actress its amazing, I can't belive how she transformed in to the monster. This is a real life story that the next day I confirmed at google, its not a lesbian story, its not a simpaty story its real life, and people didn't like to acept it. Its a clear example how reality its more shocking than fiction. I guess that most common people didn't understand the real impact of the movie and then they try to veil it. Don't do it. But be careful.
Women are some heartless creatures! they should be ashamed
This woman was a prostitute until one man tried to rape her by tiying her hands and feets together but she grabs the man's gun and killed him and stole his car ever since then that gave her an idea to kill all her Johns and steal their cars and money. Her and her lesbain girlfriend kept moving from house to house, she wanted to give up hooking by getting a job but she was hopeless. When she got arrest in 91 she was sentence to death after being jail for 12 years. This movie is a bad influnce on women today!
You'll never meet someone like me again
Monster starts as an means of self defense that quickly turns into a dark tale based on the true story of Aileen Wuornos (Theron). Wuornos is one of the first known America female serial killers. Aileen had an extremely cruel childhood plagued by sexual and physical abuse, drug use, and abandonment. At thirteen she became a prostitute, moved to Florida, and started her career as a highway prostitute. "Monster" focuses on the nine month period during which Aileen had a relationship with a woman named Selby (Ricci). During the same time she had also started a murdering spree of her clientele in order to get money without using sex. She discovers this manner of earning a living after barely escaping a man who was in the process of raping her. Aileen decided to no longer be the victim of sexual attacks, and turn the tables on female highway prostitutes being the victims of the "common" serial killer. Monster is the story of Aileen trying to make a transformation in her life, and discovering what love is all about.
"In my life it has always been the most harmless stuff that ends up being the most horrible."
Patty Jenkins (Arrested Development television series) directs Monster. This was an extremely challenging piece, and quit a project for an inexperienced director to take on. Aileen Wuornos and her life are a larger then life character and project. Her dramatic life is almost unbelievable. The hurdles set before her, and the way she managed to live was amazing on the screen. That said Jenkins developed the movie like it was a documentary. Granted Ricci and Theron are better then your average, run of the mill, actresses. However, their talents were utilized to perfection by Jenkins.
"So what is this, a gay place or what?"
The character development in this film was out of this world good. Both Ricci's and Theron's characters were presented to the audience in an amazing manner. Yes they were introduced in a non-monumental way, but how they were developed throughout the film was amazing. As both characters stories unraveled, and they both discovered more about each other, their true personalities were revealed to the audience. Jenkins placed both characters in circumstances to succeed, and both actresses hit homeruns with their performances.
"I'm good with the lord."
Monster as a film is strait forward, and at times predictable. The story is not as captivating as I thought it would be. There were a few aspects to the story I thought was interesting, an example of this being the job search. The film is entertaining; do not get me wrong, but the characters made the film. While watching the film I tried to think of other films to compare Monster to. I came up with two, Sling Blade and Blow. Both films have a surreal feel to the story; however, the characters were amazing. You could not wait to see how the story ends. In the end, you're not disappointed.
"You got to live."
