Meet me in St. Louis
Great Buy. Very happy with my purchase. Thanks
Judy Garland's Best Film Ever!
I first saw this movie when I was seven years old and it has been one of my all-time favorites ever since. The cinematography is gorgeous. The technicolor brings out the lush set designs and costumes. This is one those movies that you should watch if you're feeling sick or depressed. It never fails to make me feel better! The catchy tunes are beautifully sung by the talented Judy Garland. Among them are "The Boy Next Door" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". The uncomplicated problems of the Smith family are a great escape from the complex lives that modern people lead.
MEET ME IN ST.LOUIS!!!! A Charming Look Back At The Good Old Days
This has quickly become one of my favorite musicals. With breathtaking sets and Minnelli's beautiful eye for detail this movie has a powerful impact and is simply breathtaking. Often forgotten and overlooked by Broadway this movie is powerful with it's music and it's all-star cast. Judy Garland gives a performance that rivals her "Wizard Of Oz" one and in my opinon deserved an Oscar for her job as Esther.
A movie made during the post-war era the movie was all about family and that longing to go home similiar to musical "Wizard Of Oz" in it's message of the power of the love of home. "Meet Me In St. Louis" is a gem to own in your DVD collection and perfect for any true GARLAND fan. Garland's version of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" ALWAYS gets me teary eyed. Another notable performance is down by the adorable yet sometimes morbid portrayal of Tootie by Margret O'Brian- who won an Oscar for her performance and was one of the youngest actors to ever do so... is simply lovely in this movie and makes this movie sparkle on screen.
All about discovering love, family, and having pride in your roots. This movie is more than a musical classic- it's a family classic. Based upon the story of a Victorian family living in St.Louis at the height of invention and the growing anticipation of the World's Fair. The Smith family deals with courting, a huge crush Esther has on the boy next door, and the family's struggle as they learn they must leave their beloved St.Louis. This movie a real treat and a warm-hearted look back at the good old days...
With colorful characters and memorable songs including "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", "Meet Me In St. Louis", "The Boy Next Door", and Garland's infamous "Clang Clang Went The Trolley"... Meet In St. Louis cannot go wrong. Hit the buy now button and see Garlands best performance since The Wizard Of Oz and be enchanted by young Margret O'Brian in her Academy Award winning role.
