Good Comedy, Bad Story
"Me, Myself & Irene" suffers from the same split personality that Jim Carrey's character does. The comic set pieces are funny and Carrey is on his game. But the lame corrupt cops story that the comedy is wrapped around is from hunger. That said, there is alot to recommend in this film about a Rhode Island Highway Patrolman whose taken it on the chin for so long that his evil alter ego emerges. The kids that play Carrey's triplet "sons" are a hoot. There was talk at the time of this film's release of a spin-off film for the triplets but that never materialized probably because of the lukewarm reception that "Me, Myself & Irene" got. I think alot of the invective that was directed at this film was the result of it not being as funny as the Farrelly Brothers previous film, "There's Something About Mary". This one's not a classic but I've seen worse.

From Gentle to Mentle
Charlie is a gentle,sweet nature fellow and Hank is a mentle,tough costemer.It`s a funny comedy that you`ll love.


P.S. I never saw it

A nice guy cop with multiple personality disorder (Carey) must protect a woman (Zellweger) on the run from a corrupt ex-boyfriend and his associates. The previous sentence is the box description of the movie. The real story is the developing relationship between Zelweger and Carey's two personalities.

"What's wrong honey? Little extra cheese on the taco? Someone's baking bread, and it's sour dough."

"There's something about Mary" is probably tied with "Dumb and Dumber" as the best movies the Farrelly brother every created. Me, myself, and Irene is also fantastic, and a very close third, just a tier below. King Pin was also very good. They also made Osmosis Jones, Shallow Hal, and Stuck on You.

"Well, look who joined the party. Did you have fun? Yes you did."

The Farrelly brothers did a wonderful job of developing Carey's three sons into the story. I loved the scene where they were all sitting on the couch watching Richard Pryor, then the flash into the future, and they are all watching Chris Rock.

"Want to see my weasel? Get your foot-long and a bag of nuts."

Me, myself, and Irene is an under rated gem. This is the Jim Carey I love. This is the Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura, The Mask, the original Jim Carey so to speak. The song with the harmonica, that plays when Carey transitions between personalities is awesome, a stroke of genius so to speak. Must have in your DVD collection.
