A WORK OF ART IN THE WORLD OF MINISERIES!
It ranks among the greatest miniseries I've ever seen, in the manner of ROOTS, I CLAUDIUS, UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS, THE THORN BIRDS, QB VII,HOLOCAUST or ANGELS IN AMERICA. Quite faithful to the novel by Larry McMurtry (whom I had the honor to have dinner with when he came to Chile several years ago), this six-hour epic movie gives the audience one of the most fascinating time pieces ever done for TV. The actings are superb, specially the leading roles (Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Angelica Huston and Diane Lane). The locations will take your breath away and the music by Basil Polidouris is simply haunting. Engaging from the very first sequences, it grasps you and never leaves you. The last hour makes the rocks weep. Don't miss it. In one word: A MASTERPIECE!
A great cattle drive movie
I like Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Duvall and Richy Schroeder and they are the best actors in that movie and I love western movies and Lonesome Dove was one of the best novels of all time by Larry McMurtray and he is a very great author and I am a big fan of that movie. It's a great movie about a cattle drive and Robert Duvall loves Diane Lane in the movie and they are very good, I have to say.
In a part of a cattle drive, the movie actor Bradley Gregg who plays Sean O'Brien, the Irish guy from Ireland yells as he falls off his horse into the river when he gets bitten by too many and a whole bunch of poisened snakes and he gets killed by them and that was the saddest part of the movie and so was another one when Danny Glover had been killed by a spier and it was also sad when Gus at the end of the video died when he was shot by two poisened indian arrows. Any part of the movie was sad sometimes.
There was a part where Woodrow lost his temper when his son Newt was being beat up by a bad guy who was trying to take Dish's horse and Newt and Dish both tried telling him that the horse wasn't for sail so that's when Woodrow was mad when he saw him beat his son up and Woodrow hit him so hard with the branding irons that it hurt alot and he almost killed the guy so Gus had to lasso him because that was the only way he could stop him from ending up in jail.
