Pure Gold for the Film Club
Oh baby, if you really want to be the shining star of the film club, walk into the meeting with this little gem tucked under your arm. The director is the amazing Pedro Almodovar, who has scored many times in the arthouses, and the actress Penelope Cruz is a name and a face that will pique everyone's interest. Almodovar's first commercial film release!
Another Almodovar Classic
Live Flesh happens to be one of my top three Almodovar films (All About My Mother and Talk To Her being the other two) and sometimes is underrated. Although it feels like a brief film, the passion, the acting, the scenary and the story are nothing short of perfect and leave you panting for me in the end. If you enjoy a passionate story of redemption, love and ironic resolution, this is it.
Not a good review- I know. Trust me, I never write reviews so that's just how great I think this is.
