Better than ever
I've had this musical on vhs (taped off public tv) for years and have always found it exhilarating. I decided to get the DVD because my tape was wearing out! :-) This musical cannot compare to anything else (except maybe seeing the musical in person). Among others, Colm Wilkinson and Michael Ball are excellent). It's an emotionally charged presentation!
Highly recommended
If you have seen the musical, this is the perfect DVD to bring back the memory. Although no replacement for the stage show, it is far better than listening to a CD. The performers are in costume and very much in charater even though singing in concert. There are some video clips of the actual musical inserted during the concert that helps you keep your time frame. It goes without saying that the "dream cast" gives a great performance. Next best thing to being there.
