I CAN'T EXPLAIN.............
I can't fully explain why this film affected me the way that it did but it gave me a warm feeling and made me feel good about myself even when it coaxed a tear or two. Essentially a sweet and somewhat touching story about two lovers who are complete opposites but learn to accept and respect their differences. One is a devout Mormon and the other a bed-hopping hedonist. The main hurdle in the film is the outright bigotry and hostility by the parents of the Mormon. And the mothers' cold-heartedness nearly turns a bad situation into a tragic situation.
The film isn't perfect but it is earnest,well-meaning and heartfelt and I defy anyone not to be touched by the happy conclusion although it is telegraphed by the wording of the hated mothers' phone conversation late in the film.
I have purposely been coy about the lovers but anyone who knows about this film already knows the lovers are two males....and you know what? Why not? The movie is about love and in the final analysis shouldn't this be what life is all about? Love.

No other words. Beautiful, complexes, illuminating, somewhat dark and hard to swallow. This is problably the best movie I've ever seen.
