Weird.....
Mmmm...is this not out yet? That's weird, since I was able to buy a copy of it in an AAFES store (Army) almost 3 months ago.
Anyway, since I own the box set, I must say, that the box itself is pretty nice. The episodes are crammed into two-sided disks (you have to be extra careful not to smudge either side), and it has an extra disk which has the "Knight Rider 4000" movie plus other special features.
Personally, I never saw the KR 4000 movie, but I must say that it wasn't all that great. For one thing, they kill Devon in it. Bonnie is not there, and KITT is no more (they apparently disassembled him because he was obselete). That last bit was a big major plothole to me, since KITT in the series, was pretty much indestructible, so there was no way he could ever become obsolete. The car that replaced him was red.....sigh, to tell you the truth, it didn't seem like much of an upgrade.
Anyhow, back to the series. The quality of the dvd transfer is pretty good. Even when watching it on a laptop, the image quality held up pretty well. Watching it on a TV, its crisp and with very few errors. Unfortunately, I'm not home, so I couldn't test the sound on my surround sound system, but from what I hear, it was clear.
The menus are well done, with a nice closeup of KITT and the knighrider theme playing on the background. If I remember correctly, they also use KITT's dashboard for the menu too.
An excellent buy, for nostalgia's sake, and even better for Bonnie lovers. I especially loved how she looked in that one episode where she wears the cowboy hat.
Season Sets are in their full UNCUT glory...
With the exception of a single changed song on the Season 2 set, they are in fact completely INTACT.
Please do not listen to the previous review by Alto Speckhardt, he is mistaken, they have been verified to be complete by many enthusiasts around the net.
So please continue to support these sets so that Universal will continue to do a fine job, and release Seasons 3 and 4.
