The Best FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
I'm a book person. I always like the book better than the movie EXCEPT on this occasion. I think this movie was the best movie of the three (the book was the best of the first three books, too) and I think the movie truly added some spice to the already wonderful story. The author of the books is so great, but in certain areas, the movie version of this book was better. The way things played out in certain areas of the movie were just awesome. Especially the confrontation at the Shrieking Shack. I loved it. This is truly a great movie, a great adaptation, and a wonderful story. I reccomend the book and the movie.

The Realm Of Harry Potter Remains A Clever, Fun, And Creative Land Of Fantasy! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, has abandoned the whimsical realm of the first two installments of the series, and taken on a dark and menacing atmosphere, with its characters transcending into the awkwardness of puberty. In a sense, the film's new style reflects that, in that the seamless quality acheived in The Sorcerer's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets, has been lost. Even with this flaw, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is still another hit for the series that has become such a gem in the world of modern literature an film.

The film centers around the escape of Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) from Azkaban prison. Black, a lethal killer, aided Voldemort in the killing of Harry's parents, and now it is believed that he has set out to finish what he started thirteen years ago by killing Harry. When Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) return to Hogwarts, he finds that a fleet of grim wraiths called Dementors have been posted around the grounds to ward off Black. The Dementors however, are hardly a sign of assurance, since they have a fondness for extracting the souls of anyone who goes near them.

Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione (Rupert Grint and Emma Watson), also find that Hogwarts has been blessed a host of new staff members. New at the school is Professor Lupin (David Thewlis) who teaches Harry to defend himself against the dark magic of his enemies, and Professor Trelawny (Emma Thompson), a daffy Divination teacher, who sees death omens within Harry's teacup! Also, the loveable gamekeeper, Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane), has also been deemed the new Care of Magical Creatures professor, who introduces the students of Hogwarts to an elegant beast, called a Hipogriff, who is half horse and half bird.

The actors playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione have definately outgrown their childhoods, and the new style of the movie, reflects it. The world of warm crackling fires and imaginative corridors of Hogwarts and the richness of the environs surrounding it, are long gone. Now, Hogwarts seems to have thinned and become more penetratable, and the grounds around it are icy and uninviting. Even the Quidditch game featured in the film is played in a violent and windy rainstorm.

Is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as good as the first two films? No. It lacks the joyous sense of wonderment, and there are a few loose ends that should have been tied up in the film's screenplay. But, reguardless of this the realm of Harry Potter reamins a clever, fun, and creative land of fantasy.
