Cute.
This film is cute, and despite it being about girls in a mental institution, it has a certain sweetness too it, although the plot tends to slow down a bit too much at times. It's an enjoyable film that I picked up on a whim, mostly due to curiosity.

An emotional and inspirational movie experience
I do not know how to begin explaining the great significance of this film. This true story is about Susanna Kaysen who's path in life is going downhill during the late 1960s. She is the only one in her graduating high school class not going to college. (She "plans to write.") As her emotions become more than she can handle, she takes a bottle of aspirin followed by a bottle of vodka. She is then considered "suicidal" and is sent to Claymoore mental institution. During her stay there she makes unexpected friendships, unlikely discoveries, and finds the courage to face her fear of others and herself. James Mangold so wonderfully directs and writes this truly incredible true story. This story comes to life with outstanding performances by Winona Ryder (as Susanna) and Angelina Jolie. Deserving her Oscar win, Angelina Jolie plays a sociopath Lisa, who befriends Susanna. Giving the performances of a lifetime, Ryder and Jolie capture the audience's hearts and minds. The beauty of this film is that is depicts the realistic light of this young woman's journey to find herself.

One of the best acting insane movie made
Girl, Interrupted does not have a point to it, the reason for this is because it's about a couple of girls that are in a mental institution and talks about how they got in and how they get out.This movie to me is so real because each character has a mental disorder of their own. But one of the amazing proformances
of this movie has to go to Angelina Jolie she does not only shock you but makes the movie better then it already is, Ange plays a Sociopath thats mean,funny,helpful,and more and wants to be friends with Winona Ryder who also does great in the movie , but as soon as winonas character get's better with her disorder Ange gets jealous because she still has hers. The movie is great and is a must see just for the Proformances between Angelina and Winona.
