Run Forrest, Run... Forrest Gump es un personaje que sin duda alguna nació con un retardo mental. Su mamá lo adora y hará por él todo lo que sea posible para que no se sienta discriminado. Durante toda la película vemos a un Forrest que crece pese a las adversidades y ve la vida como una persona normal no sería capaz. La vida para él es tan sencilla y simple que su actitud lo lleva a lograr todo lo que se propone. Forrest Gump sale con frases tan sabias que lo dejan a uno como la H. Muda. Creo que Forrest Gump ha sido transmitida varias veces por televisión pero vale la pena tenerla como un MUST en cuanto a DVDs.

I can't believe anyone could hate this movie
I have read some reviews about this movie saying it is awful, impossible, etc. and of course it is! It's a movie! That's what most movies are. They are a window to the inconceivable. That is why people watch them. And this one is great.
This is one of the best actually. It's about a low-IQ man named Forrest Gump who travels through important parts of American history. It represents not that a stupid person can make it through life because of kindness, but that no matter what happens, the American spirit can survive.

This is the BOOK, not the Movie/DVD !!!!
I'm not sure how so many reviewers managed to mix up the two . . . anyway, the nature and tone of the book are vastly different (and in my mind, much more entertaining) than that of the movie. Winston Groom's "Gump" is filled with side-splitting ironic humor, as well as an healthy skepticism of the various powers that be that the protagonist encounters. My guess is that people who saw the movie first will be disappointed by the lack of sentimentality in the book - but if you are one of the handfull of people remaining on the planet who have not seen the movie, PLEASE read the book first - it's hilarious and life-affirming, without falling into the maudlin trappings that (at least in my mind) diminished the movie.
