Some of the Best Television Ever - A Sad Loss
Now, I'm not a big fan of the whedon guy, and could care less for his other shows (why anyone but teenagers likes Buffy is a mystery to me - must be stunted emotional development ;), but this series is fantastic. I hadn't watched weekly television like this since Hill Street Blues or ST-TNG. Awesome watching, but it is truly sad to think this is it. The characters are diverse and all lovable, there's mystery in their backgrounds (why does the Sheperd know so much about weapons?), and tasty moral dilemmas every episode - and great humor in the dialogue. Great for any sci-fi fan.

Thw Best 35 bucks you'll spend on a DVD set.
My God What a great show! What more can I say that hasn't already been said. Just go buy it, It's only 35$ and it's worth it.

Joss Whedon's Masterpiece
Firefly is an absolute joy to watch. The characters are fantastically imaginative (the uber-badass of the crew is a guy named...Jane). The humor can be either fox-like in its sly subtelty or blatantly slap-you-in-the-face like South Park. The writing is very good, the acting is great, the characters are memorable, the plots are fairly imaginative. There is nothing bad to say about this series. It's unfortunate that the other drivel that Joss Whedon has helped create overshadowed Firefly, which is his masterpiece.
